The Pilar Poblacion Malilay Scholarship(est. 2006) for SY 2008-2009 was awarded on August 12, 2008 to Academy of Our Lady Seniors, Shermaine Garcia and Mariana Pangelinan. The fund was established by Mrs. Malilay’s four daughters who are Academy alumnae and who have named the scholarship in honor of their mother. Mrs. Malilay was recruited back in 1952 by the U.S. Navy to help on Guam as a nurse. Mrs. Malilay and her daughters are committed to education at the Academy. Each of Mrs. Malilay’s four daughters educational achievements can be attributed to their mother’s sacrifices, dedication and trust in God.
